I have to admit to being a little disappointed that the new State Government axed Sustainability Victoria's Climate Communities program and along with it Transition Bell's "3215 in bloom" project. Well no time to get grumpy and miserable because the wonderful tree maintenance guys at the City of Greater Geelong have being planting Olive Trees as part of their annual tree planting schedule. I've had a few chats with these guys and they like olives because they allow under-pruning - all important when it comes to visibility for reversing motorists etc.
